Sliding Scale Payment System

It is our hope to make this practice accessible to all and also to make a living wage for ourselves. Sliding scale is a means of making yoga more affordable, by making it cheaper for those who need it to be, while those who can afford to pay more do. Certainly we can all practice on our own (for free!) but there is something special about being in a class together, connecting with the community. Removing one barrier of access to practice is one small way that we feel can help to address systemic inequalities of class that exist in the world.

NOTE: This payment system is only available for classes that have sliding scale payment listed as a payment option.

We strive to make yoga more accessible and affordable for everyone

******    PLEASE READ THROUGH THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY     *******

“For a sliding scale to work it relies on the principles of truthfulness, respect for complexity, and accountability. We will not ask for income verification. We trust our students and clients to be honest. Community thrives when accountability is a central value, because that is where trust grows and depth work can be done. Teachers deserve to get paid and students deserve classes which recognize the multiple realities of economic access and privilege that exist.”

THE KARMA COST:
Reflects what the true cost of the class or service would be, but also adds a little more to help to supplement the cost for those who are unable to pay, allows us to continue to be able to offer our services at a cost that is accessible to all clients, as well as helping us to be able make our business sustainable.

If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, and have a little more to give, then this price is for you.

THE HIGH COST:
Reflects the true cost of the class or service. It is the cost that we would charge all students in the absence of a sliding scale. If you have access to financial security, own property or have personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worrying about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power in our community. This price is for you.

THE MIDDLE COST:
Represents an honest acknowledgement that paying the full cost would prevent some people from being able to attend, but they do not honestly find themselves reflected in either descriptions for the highest cost or the lowest.

If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., you belong here.

THE LOWEST COST:
Represents an honest acknowledgement that there are people whose economic circumstances would prevent them from being a part of classes if there was not a deliberate opportunity made for them to access services at a cost that is reflective of their economic realities.

If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt, you deserve a community that honors your price as equal an economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier. Even when the lower tier is still prohibitive, we will work with you to offer other solutions.

Please be mindful that, if you purchase a price at the lowest end of the scale when you can truthfully afford the higher ticket prices, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities. It also respects the work of teachers and creators, like us, who have families to take care of and bills to pay:)

PLEASE NOTE: The sliding scale we used was altered a bit but borrowed from this source.

Our Classes

We offer a variety of classes in different locations that nurture mind, body, and soul. Our classes include Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Myofascial Release, all taught in a safe, supportive space for all.

An excellent compliment to any athletic training; whether you are a recreational athlete, elite competitor, a casual active participant, or maybe you just want some time to recover from the stress of everyday life. Classes may include a combination of mindful movements, yin postures, myofascial release techniques, and restorative yoga; all of which help facilitate nervous system down regulation, injury prevention, and enhance tissue recovery.

The goal here is to create space for precious moments of self-care, which allows participants to recharge the batteries and recoup some of the energetic expenditures that we all undertake on a daily basis. Participants are encouraged to minimise their physical effort and shift the focus to exploring and deepening your connection to your body. Less is more for this class!
