Introduction to yoga with andrea porter
Sunday october 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th from 9:30-11am | Embody yoga and wellness, 10 forbes street
Teacher: Andrea Porter
Begin where you are. Begin again.
Whether you’ve never stepped onto a yoga mat, are returning to your practice after some time away, or simply want to revisit the foundations, this four-week Introduction to Yoga series is an invitation to begin again—with curiosity, compassion, and a beginner’s mindset.
Over four weeks, we’ll explore the building blocks of a yoga practice in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Together, we’ll learn the fundamentals of breathwork (pranayama), body awareness, guided meditation, and basic yoga postures (asanas), with an emphasis on alignment and finding variations that work for your unique body.
Each week will build gently on the last, helping you develop a deeper understanding of the practice while becoming more comfortable on your mat.
Throughout the series, we’ll explore:
Basic breathwork and pranayama techniques
Fundamental yoga postures and alignment
Variations to support your individual needs
Body awareness and mindful movement
Guided meditation
This series is for absolute beginners, returning students, or anyone who simply wants to slow down and revisit the basics.
Because there is no perfect time to begin. Every day, every hour, and every breath offers us a brand-new opportunity to start again.
By the end of the four weeks, our hope is that you’ll leave with a greater understanding of yoga, a deeper connection to your breath and body, and the confidence and knowledge to step into and participate in a yoga class with greater ease.
Come exactly as you are.
Bring your curiosity.
And give yourself permission to begin again.
No previous Yoga experience is needed to attend this workshop.
