Sunday, March 14th Cusco
Welcome to Peru! Our retreat begins with one transfer from the Cusco airport to our lovely hotel conveniently situated in the historic center. Plan to arrive in Cusco by 11a.m. to acclimate to the altitude.
At 3:00 pm we will meet our guide in the hotel lobby for a brief group orientation meeting. We will then take a late afternoon walk through the cobblestone streets of San Blas, where your guide will point out fascinating Incan stonework en route to the Korikancha Temple, the holiest site during Incan times.
Monday, March 15th Cusco and Willka T'ika
Good morning, sunshine! We will start the day with a visit the Inkan site of Saksaywaman overlooking the city of Cusco. By these majestic ruins, a traditional K’intu blessing nvites you to tap into the presence and energies of Pachamama, Mother Earth.
We will enjoy a picnic lunch, then drive to Willka T’ika in the Sacred Valley through
spectacular Andean mountain scenery. After a brief intro by the guide and leader,
the Willka T’ika Quechua staff will welcome you to the retreat center, and help you
schedule time for Andean spa services and he use of the beautiful yoga, meditation
and ceremonial spaces.
Tuesday, March 16th
We will start the day with a yoga class, then a delicious breakfast to follow! Fire Ceremony Day This day is dedicated to Pachamama, Mother Earth. Relax in the splendors of nature and enjoy a tour of the Seven Chakra Gardens. Take an optional guided walk through the nearby Rumichaka farming neighborhood where Quechua campesinos live. More challenging hikes along scenic routes into the valley are also possible.
We will have lunch at 1:00 pm and then meet our pakko, a very special Q’ero healer, visiting from the high Andes. We will participate in coca leaf blessings and a sacred “Despacho”
ceremony. After dinner, our pakko invites guests to an authentic and transformative Andean fire ceremony to honor Pachamama, yourself and your loved ones. The ceremony will remind us to focus our intention for this journey and serves as a wonderful preparation of mind, body and spirit for the pilgrimage to Machu Picchu.
Wednesday, March 17th
After our morning yoga class and breakfast, we will visit a Quechua mountain school supported by the nonprofit Willka T’ika Children’s Fund. Afterward, we will enjoy a riverside bag lunch and then continue to the spectacular ruins of P’isaq, overlooking impressive Incan terraces. We will then return to the main square of P’isaq by bus and visitthe famous, colorful market filled withwoven goods, jewelry, wall hangings andhand-painted beadwork. Enjoy café or tea in the market square. P’isaq is a photographer’s dream. We will then return to Willka T’ika for our evening yoga class and dinner.
Thursday, March 18th
Rise and shine! We will have an early breakfast before taking the tourist train to Aguas Calientes. Tea/coffee and snack served on train. A bus takes you to the sunlit terraces of Machu Picchu where we will enjoy a fabulous guided tour of the ancient “City of Light.” Experience a journey through the masculine energy temples of political and spiritual power, followed by a deep reconnection of feminine earth energies. In the afternoon, we will have lunch at a wonderful restaurant in town, and explore town. We will take the late afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where we will transfer to Willka T’ika in time for a late, light dinner.
Friday, March 19th
After our morning yoga and breakfast, we will visit the ceremonial site of Ollantaytambo and its famous Sun Temple. We will have lunch on our own in the quaint picturesque town. After our evening Yoga class, you can choose to meditate in the Chakra Garden of your choice, enjoy an Andean Spa treatment, or crystal light therapy session. For the more active, choose from a variety of hikes, including the nearby Maras Salt Flats and activities through the valley and up the mountains.
Saturday, March 20th
After morning flow and breakfast the day is yours to do whatever you are in the mood for. You can choose a guided morning hike to the town of Urubamba through farming neighborhoods, visit a typical, lively Peruvian market, a wonderful alpaca factory, and the famous Seminario ceramics shop. Lunch will be seved at 1pm, yoga class at 5pm, and 6:30 pm we will have our farewell dinner.
Sunday, March 21st
All good things must come to an end (insert sad face here). We will share one last early morning closing session before breakfast.

You will fly into the main airport in Lima. We highly recommend that, if you are travelling the day of the retreat, you arrive in the late evening / early morning and connect ASAP to a morning flight to Cusco. If you have a long layover, you can book a room at the Lima Airport (Wyndham Costa del Sol). If you want to spend time seeing Lima, we recommend doing so at the end of your trip.
A private shutttle will transfer guests from the Cusco airport on Day 1 to the hotel in Cusco. A private shuttle will transfer guests from Willka T’ika to the Cusco airport on Day 8. Participants arriving/departing at a different time may arrange a private transfer with Willka T’ika.

If you cancel between 91 and 119 days before your retreat start date, you will forfeit 100% of your $500 deposit. A one time transfer of your payments may be applied to another Rise Yoga and Wellness retreat, within one calendar year from the current retreat start date. . You can also transfer your booking to another person, minus the $500 deposit.
If you cancel 90 days or less before your retreat start date, there will be NO credit given and you will forfeit your entire deposit and all payments.
We do not offer refunds on deposits or payments under any circumstances. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits will be given for failure to attend or failure to complete the retreat, or for arriving late or leaving early. We recommend that you purchase your own travel insurance. We encourage you to purchase trip cancellation insurance in order that your trip fees will be covered should you or your family have a medical problem prior to your trip or while on the trip. Trip insurance should also be purchased to cover medical expenses in the event you have an accident while on the retreat.
If you cancel your booking up to 120 days before your retreat start date, you will forfeit %100 of your initial $500 USD deposit.

Can I stay at the resort centre prior to or post retreat?
No. This is an adult only retreat.
Is this retreat for children?
Participants are required to have a regular yoga practice for at least 6 months prior to the retreat.
Can a beginner join or do I need to have some yoga experience?
Andrea completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Vinyasa (Flow) Yoga at Sonic Yoga in Costa Rica in 2016; she has completed over 200 + hours of Yin Yoga training; She is also certified to teach Yoga Nidra, Prenatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and is a level 1&2 Reiki practitioner. She is currently enrolled in and almost complete her 300 hour advanced teacher training program to become a registered Yoga Medicine® Therapeutic Specialist; she has completed the Yoga for Athletes, Myofascial Release, Prenatal Myofascial Release, Prenatal Therapeutics, Shoulder Anatomy: Dysfunction + Application, Mindful Trauma Informed Yoga, Restorative/Nervous System Yoga, Sequencing with Purpose, and Traditional Chinese Medicine modules. She is a Certified Neurogenic Yoga™ Teacher and TRE® Provider. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200 and is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.
She is committed to honouring every individual’s search for personal growth and their desire to be well. She teaches her classes with compassion, intelligent sequencing that incorporates functional movement, a sense of humour and playfulness, and an utmost respect for every beautiful soul that joins her on this journey, on and off the mat. Danielle (Dani) Flynn is a certified yoga instructor and nature enthusiast who has a passion for movement, mindfulness, connection and adventures! She has been offering group yoga classes in and around her community of St. John’s, Newfoundland for over 10 years now, always striving to offer a lighthearted and centred approach to teaching. Dani aims to cultivate balance in her classes by guiding her students back to that cheerful playfulness from childhood & that peaceful grounded place within.
Her training is rooted in Vinyasa flow yoga (Sonic Yoga, 200 Hour YTT) with a focus on creative sequencing and advanced postures (Authentic Movements, 500 Hour YTT) and is beautifully balanced by additional training in Yin Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Thai Yoga Massage and Neurogenic Yoga & TRE.
Outside of working and teaching, Dani can usually be found along the coastline of the rocky shores of Newfoundland, hiking or paddling with her little buddy, Fern (her dog) or cozied up at home with a good book, some wool, thread, paint or any other number of crafting materials – depending on the day!
